Berry, who has been with the bank since 1981, has been appointed president and chief executive officer, and John W. Kable has assumed the role of executive vice president.

“I am proud to have been a part of this wonderful organization for the past 30 years, and I can say with a great deal of confidence that as we build on our past successes, the future looks even brighter,” Berry said.

“The bank is doing very well and we have a lot of support from the community. We are looking to the future. We have a strong community base and the Wichita Falls economy is doing good,” he pointed out. “Obviously, the community support has been very strong for the bank to grow like it has. I am very proud of the bank being locally owned. We have a lot of MSU (Midwestern State University) grads here. A large percentage of our officer staff is from MSU and stayed here, and our staff is involved in all aspects of the community.”

Speaking of looking to the future, Berry said, “We want to continue to grow. We are the largest independent bank in this area. We want to grow and support the community. Our employees are involved in about all the civic organizations. I think community banks have a place in the future. We can provide any product that any major money center bank can. On top of that, we offer local, homegrown service.”

During Berry’s career, the bank’s assets have grown from $11 million to approximately $450 million — and has grown from one office with six employees to 154 employees in six locations, serving the cities of Wichita Falls, Iowa Park, Archer City and Flower Mound.

Berry replaced John “Bo” Stahler, who retired in July. Berry has more than 40 years of banking experience and was executive vice president of the bank before the appointment.

Kable, who has been in the banking industry for more than 30 years, began his career with the bank in 1989. He served as senior vice president of commercial lending before being named executive vice president.

“The key ingredient to our success is our commitment to quality customer service,” Kable said. “Our employees are our most important asset to our bank and its continued growth within the community. Our directors, officers and staff are dedicated to our customers, our community, and the growth of our bank.”

In his previous role with the bank, Kable managed a diversified commercial lending portfolio consisting of commercial loans, industrial loans, commercial real estate loans, energy and energy-related loans. Additionally, he served as downtown branch manager and on many management committees within the bank over the years.

The bank opened its doors for business in 1976. Since its beginning, the bank has expanded its services to include departments for mortgage loans, leasing, trust services and investments.

George Ritchie is chairman of the board of directors. Other members of the board include Julie Hanes, Milburn Nutt, Bill Rowland, J. Robert Scott, Kenny Bryant, Tommy Isbell, Ty Thacker, Ben Woody and Berry. Advisory directors are Hank Anderson, Max Vordenbaum, Mark Tucker, Bill Franklin, Don Whatley and John Kable.

New Fake Website Warning

Fraud Center
<guid
